My personal view on anime, as it is become a visible media niche in the world. Just like any other media, it has its share of pukes and good ones....this is my view on it. Whimsical? Informative? Overly serious? Too silly? Why the hell am I still watching anime? Thoughts like this runs through my mind here.
One of the most beautiful anime OP I ever laid my eyes on. Right music, right animation, right feel. What a nostalgic feel to watch this again. The Record of Lodoss War TV, made somewhere in late 90s.
However the TV series is mediocre at best, did not live up the magic feel of the OVA or this promising OP.
ED Impressive ED, generic OP (they miss Yamakan's touch here) and the 1st episode generally follow the manga panel by panel so far. As I observed earlier, a very normal, commercially appealing anime, nothing intense or deep here. But it is good stress reliever after hard day at work and for some people, that's anime is all about.
I did chuckled at Krauser II reference though.
Nothing special and this is my last post on K-On anime. Not my kinda cup of tea/coffee or whatever beverage. Kyoto Animation really know how to make money though.
Apparently the OP was leaked by some negligence by GONZO. Here it is. The vilianess (I assume) looks the same as the Guild leader from Last EXILE. Same designer, same template? Very dynamic and fluid OP.
First episode is streamed in Crunchy Roll few days ago and looks good. Skipped 6 months after 1st season ending, the characters were re-introduced somewhat slowly. Still too early to say anything but for 1st episode it is not too bad. It has action, comedy, soft moments and foreshadowing that points to general direction of the story. We see a broken, tired Jil who is now a recluse who was consoled by high spirited but in denial mode Fatina who meet Utu later on in a fair. The first priestess of Ishtar suddenly appear into their life and another adventure is on hand for Jil as he saw a terrifying vision regarding about Kaaya from the priestess.
Great character design from previous season is still around especially Fatina, this time GONZO did a right thing. A surprise hit from last year, Druaga is based on dungeon crawl video game and expanded into full blown series.
A little investigation revealed the screenwriter and director were responsible for few good series. Koichi Chigara (director), who did Blue Submarine no 6 and Shoji Gatoh (screenwriter and novelist), responsible for episode 11 of Haruhi Suzumiya and entire Full Metal Panic! series scripting.
GDH is banking their hopes on this one and as this entry is written, milking Strike Witches for all its worth. Let's just hope they did not overdo this series.
Their OP is tongue in cheek humor just like last year. Previous entry.
Nice pacing, well placed humor and unmistakable Yamakan's touch all over the place. Dynamic camera angle and good placement of background music. It is faithful to the manga source so far. Lush animation especially the OP and main character is quite interesting. Former A class staffers from Kyoto Animation gesture of revenge against Kyoto Animation for cashiering Haruhi's director into bin after early Lucky Star fiasco.
I wonder if this series is the reason why Haruhi S2 got delayed? Remains to be seen.
This OP grew on me. At first I find it weird but now I kinda like it.
The game theme version.
I am interested to see the direction of anime taking, it did caught my interest due to unusual story and nihilistic female lead, Muerte. Plus episode 5 have 2 legends on opposing sides again, voice acting as small bear characters (Tohryu Furuya who did Amuro Ray and Shuichi Ikeda as Char/Sha Aznable). Their "reunion" is tongue in cheek nod to their previous roles in legendary Mobile Suit Gundam. Hehe.
Right now I paying a very close attention to this. I am a big fan of Kino no Tabi and this anime is no exception. I do hope my hunch is right on money for this one.
This anime does caught my eye and I will make detailed discussion on it soon. However, the op song really reminds me of another ALI project work on Rozen Maiden.
I enjoyed this kooky anime from last year and so far I see no problem with the sequel unlike my massive disappointment with Gunslinger Girl Il Teatrino. Will post complete review on this once Season 2 is done.
Very, very beautiful anime. I am very impressed by the work. Despite we all know how it is gonna end, it is still the most famous literary work in history. Let's see how GONZO (a lot of people I knew hated this studio like a rabid dog) doing on this story.
Another very very beautiful anime. I still waiting on the buzz by the community regarding about this anime. Anyone willing to tell me if this anime worth it or not?
It is....It is......A - D - D - I - C - T - I - V - E.......ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
@_@
However, I heard Kyoto Animation removed the director as they felt the anime did not make a significant impact; the lack of oooomph. Admittedly the anime early part is bit shaky and most of the jokes went above my head. However, the lucky channel is the one that saved the show and Akira cracks me up, especially 2nd episode.
After the 1st ep, I am not too impressed by this anime. The character(s) are too angsty for me and have no frigging reason what they want to be. The background is highly implausible. Plus, no mechas can take on tanks in open terrain and win.
My fave mecha game for PS2, I also loved the intro and sheer music accompanying this work. It is shame that however, there is limited plot they can use for Zone of Enders franchise, it is always about 2 machines built on mysterious power of minerals that amplifies the pilots personality and will plus a human-like combat AI in the machines.
I place this in my blog as my tribute to this fine work of art.
