That, my friends, is the power of Miyazaki's touch.
My personal view on anime, as it is become a visible media niche in the world. Just like any other media, it has its share of pukes and good ones....this is my view on it. Whimsical? Informative? Overly serious? Too silly? Why the hell am I still watching anime? Thoughts like this runs through my mind here.

The power of Miyazaki
Few years ago, to be more precise around 2004, I met this really, really bitchy and difficult woman who grated on my nerves endlessly. Needless to say, we do not get along at all but one day a topic of Totoro came up. All of sudden, as if by magic, she turns into this soft, happy person that I never thought she is capable of. She smiles beautifully and began to talk about the movie excitedly like a giddy school girl. It is a major shock to me.
That, my friends, is the power of Miyazaki's touch.

Satoshi Kon
Sometimes he masturbates on his work too much. Sometimes his work is a bit too dense for people to grasp. But it has touch of irony and simplicity that captures the feel. His visuals are rather different from others, not as playful as Shinbo but not as stern as Oishii's. Or as nostalgic as Shinkai.
His notable works are Paranoia Agent, Millennium Actress and Paprika.
Enjoy the short piece anyway.
